Search
Every word of every page on this site, every page of all three reproduced directories, and every plate of the 1904 county atlas — about twenty thousand people, by name, trade or street, and every parcel name read off the maps. Results are grouped by where they come from.
The directory volumes are also searchable on their own pages, where the box sits beside the book: Central Berkshire, 1926, South Berkshire, 1923–’25 and Berkshire County, 1874; the atlas has its own on its page. Their text is machine-read from the scans and is imperfect, so a name may be on a page under a different spelling; short fragments find more. Searching matches the letters in order, anywhere in a word and across spaces, apostrophes and hyphens — so Spring Lawn, Springlawn and Spring-Lawn all find the same entries. Every matching line on a page is listed, not just the first.
